Currently, I serve as Founder and Principal Consultant at KFC MDInc Consulting (2022 - Present), where I provide strategic healthcare operations consulting to clinics, ASCs, and global health ventures. My work focuses on regulatory systems, patient journey redesign, and cross-border logistics, helping client organizations achieve 25% increases in patient satisfaction and 20% growth in referral volumes. Concurrently, I served as Practice Director at 77 Plastic Surgery (2022-2023), where I oversaw day-to-day operations for a high-volume elective surgery clinic and led CRM transitions, financial restructuring, and clinical team development.
My most extensive leadership role was at The Athenix Body Sculpting Institute (2015-2021), where I served as Director of Clinical Operations and Chief Medical Officer. I managed five surgical centers across three states, leading standardization efforts, SOP development, and AAAHC accreditation while overseeing large clinical teams. Under my leadership, we improved throughput and reduced cancellations by 40%. Prior to Athenix, I was Center Operations Medical Director at Lifestyle Lift (2013-2015), overseeing operations across multiple locations in this national cosmetic surgery chain. I led restructuring initiatives that improved productivity and patient satisfaction to the top 5% nationally across their 70+ locations.
My entrepreneurial journey began after completing my medical training at the University of Minnesota and residency at UCSF, where I also co-authored landmark research on platelet-derived growth factors. From 1993 to 2009, I founded and operated the Danville/San Ramon Plastic Surgery Center while simultaneously founding and serving as Medical Director of Tresanti Surgery Center, a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center I designed and launched from the ground up. During this period, I also served as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at San Ramon Regional Medical Center, leading hospital surgical departments and physician governance while performing over 4,600 operations throughout my clinical career.
